Dear Parents/Guardians, Community Members, Staff, Faculty & Students of Tohatchi Middle School:
I would like to welcome you back to another great year of school! This school year 2016/2017 is off to a great start. We welcome 6 new cougars to the pride; Virginia Smith-Parent Liaison, Thomas Dewayne-Science Teacher, Marriah Silversmith 6th ELA, Burgess Navarro 7th ELA, Stephanee Nez 8th ELA, Arsenia Balgue-6th Math & Jorge Gutierrez-7th Math. Thank you for joining our team and we all welcome you to Tohatchi.
In addition, we have exchanged the dress code for a modest allowance of student choice to express the way they dress. I would like to give the students a challenge and a thank you. Last year our students had a high rate of attendance and a low rate of discipline. That needs to be celebrated by telling the community and it also demands a challenge. The challenge is for our students to continue the tradition of excellence and keep our attendance rates high and discipline rates low.
Thank you students and thank you parents for all of your support! Let’s make it another amazing year!

Dear Parents/Guardians, Community Members,Staff, Faculty & Students of Tohatchi Middle School,
The weather is starting to get chilly and October is around the corner. We have been off to a great start. We are now a “C” school and the energy is positive for students, staff and community members. Way to go Tohatchi Cougars! We have also introduced the Principal’s award. Teachers select students that show good character, helpfulness, politeness and qualify for the student of the month award. So, we challenge all students to obtain the Principals Award. Parents, from Oct. 3-14 we will be working on the TLI test at school. Please help us by making sure the students get a good night sleep and are here each of those testing days! Also, a reminder there will be no school from Oct. 19-21. Those will be our Fall break days for students. For staff Fall break will be from Oct. 20-21. And, we are excited to announce that we will be holding a Culture Day all day on Oct. 28. We are cordially inviting all family and community members to come and celebrate with us, we can’t wait to see you there!
